S06E027, Take A Look Around You, Andy B 2 Minute Video
In this Andy B 2 Minute Video, a simple encounter with a robin turns into a lesson on perspective and purpose. While watching his son skipping Andy B noticed a robin seemingly captivated by the activity—until it became clear the bird had its eyes on a worm nearby. This humorous moment reminds us not to take ourselves too seriously when others show interest, but instead to appreciate the beauty of connection, whether with nature or people.
You are neither boring nor unimportant - you are made with purpose and on purpose! So, take time to notice the world around you and embrace how precious you are to God.
Just a thought...

Have you ever seen a robin? The little birds, orange breasts, we always think of them at Christmas on Christmas cards, that's the sort of stereotypical image of a robin. But they're not just alive for Christmas, they live all through the year. And where we live, up in the North East of the UK, we've found we've got some very, very interested animals.
Robins. Interested and interesting, actually, because one of my sons the other day was outside doing a bit of exercise. He had a skipping rope. He was doing what he was doing and he clocked that there was a robin very close to him watching what he was doing. Fascinating. Wow. There's a robin watching my skipping.
Cool. That's great. And then he realized that Robin perhaps might have an ulterior motive for keeping him company that morning, because he noticed near his feet was a worm. It had rained, all the worms come to the surface, and this one was crawling across slabs, so of course concrete can't get back down into the earth, and a little bit vulnerable.
Nathan looks at the robin, looks at the, the worm on the floor and thinks, Maybe he wasn't quite as interested in me as I may have originally thought. Hit the worm to one side, and the robin flipped down, grabbed the worm and took off its breakfast. Probably lunch and dinner as well, I imagine. Sometimes we can get rather fascinated by people looking at us.
You ever had that thing someone waves at you, so you wave back and realize it wasn't you, it was this person just behind you, so you keep on waving as you walk past at nobody because we don't want to be that person. It's really easy, isn't it, to get a little bit caught up in why are people looking at me?
What am I doing? Oh, it's me. They want to talk to me. no, no, it's the person behind us. It's easy to get caught up, isn't it? And then it's a bit embarrassing. We walk away, but take a look around you. At the beauty of God's creation, Nathan saw a robin looking at him that wasn't looking at him at all, it was actually looking at the worm near his feet.
I've had that, the wave, the wave back, it's not you, you keep on waving to try and make it look as though you're not a complete lunatic. If people are interested in you, make sure you're willing to be interested back. That robin was interested in Nathan, it really was. It was interested in Nathan because Nathan was stopping him from having his breakfast.
There was an interaction, as simple as it was. People want to be interested in you. You're not boring. You're not uninteresting. You need to rebuke those lies. That's not true. You are fascinating. You are made on purpose and you are made with purpose. Just like Nathan has a purpose that day. He kicked the worm to the robin, it came down, it fed him.
And Nathan basked in the glow and the beauty of watching some of God's creation. People interested in you, be interested in it back. Just a thought.
