S05E079, Go Ahead, But Boldly, Andy B 2 Minute Video
Have you ever watched an episode of the original Star Trek? There’s a line from Captain James T. Kirk that you’d hear frequently. Imagine the scene of that ultra futuristic space ship moving through space, jumping from galaxy to galaxy, and the words can be heard as you watch: “to boldly go...”
Now I don’t know about you, but I figure some of those fictional characters may have been into that going boldly thing. But there were definitely others who would not. They didn’t need to have any modicum of boldness - being on the United Federation of Planets Star Ship Enterprise, NCC-1701, was probably as close as they got to any degree of boldness.
Unless they wore a red shirt, in which case they wouldn’t make the end credits.
As Christians we can have absolute boldness in our Creator. He literally holds the universe in His hands, because He spoke it into being and knows it in all its glory!
And, yet, He didn’t speak you and me into being. The Bible tells us He knits us together in our mother’s womb. There is randomness, or happenstance that precedes us being alive and kicking.
And is that same Creator who knows the very number of hairs on our head. If you’re bald, that may not sound so exciting, but He knew how many hairs you had on your head when you had hair, even if you can’t remember those times.
Walking with God can be nerve wracking. But we need never feat the path before us if we truly seek to walk it with God guiding us, because He is the best guide we could dream of.
Just a thought...

[00:00:00] Andy B: So another Andy B Two Minute Video. Now going ahead boldly, I dunno if you've ever watched the original Star Trek and you star Trek and you've got the Starship Enterprise and it's going boldly through the universe to, to universes, unexplored, never known, meeting, all these new things and it's going boldly forwards.
[00:00:28] But it's not really going boldy forwards so much as it's going forwards because the engines are pushing it along through space, depending on your perspective on Science Fiction and exploring the galaxy.
[00:00:39] Being bold isn't necessarily about the pace or the route at which we travel because sometimes we're on a spaceship going to a a star system far, far away, and all of a sudden it's got nothing to do with us being bold.
[00:00:51] It's just whether the engine will keep working and keep driving us forwards. But being bold is important as Christians, there's an old song, it's a bit naff these days because it's a bit, [00:01:00] it's, it's extremely dated, but it was be bold, be strong for the Lord. Your God is mighty. If you're singing that in your head, I apologize. I led worship with it many, many times great song in the eighties when it was new.
[00:01:11] But the thing is, we should go forwards with boldness when we are walking for God. Not because we know that it's gonna be problem free. We know as Christians that when we are walking for God, the path before us will be clearly set out. But it isn't necessarily gonna be incident free. In fact, I would go the other way.
[00:01:29] If you're walking for Jesus Christ then the path ahead of you is gonna be filled with obstacles. The difference is as Christians, not that we are obstacle free from the people around us who don't know Jesus Christ. But as we walk forwards, those obstacles are obstacles we can face with Jesus Christ, walking right alongside us!
[00:01:47] So when the floods come, and the fires come, Jesus is right there with us. It says that in Isaiah 43.
[00:01:54] Do you trust the one who made the path?
[00:01:57] Do you trust God's path for you in your life?
[00:01:59] Do you [00:02:00] trust that as you walk forwards for Jesus, He has your footsteps in His hand?
[00:02:07] The same God who knows how many hairs are on your head, the same Father God who designed you by hand, He designed the entire universe by speaking. He designed you by creatively, by hand, making you. Do you trust that God with your future? Do you trust Him with the path that he has for you?
[00:02:30] If you know you are walking for God, then you can walk forward boldly, knowing that the one who designed you and designed the path, has your best interests at heart so you can trust Him.
[00:02:41] So go forward boldly!
[00:02:44] Just a thought.
