S05E067, From Small Things, Andy B 2 Minute Video
Have you ever heard of the story of the ugly duckling? If you haven’t it’s simply a children’s tale about we grow as we age; about how we can start off looking one way but will grow into something quite different.
The moral of the story, for me, at least, is to not let our children think they can become what they want to be, just because they want to.
It's a bit like stating that Santa Clause is real. Harmless? Not really - not if we convince them that he really is real, and the reason for Christmas: a lie is a lie is a lie.
Each of us may look at who we are and think we are rubbish.
Let me state something wonderfully true here: you are not rubbish! Because God CAN NOT make rubbish!!
If you want to see your full potential, surrender your life to God – the one who, literally, hand made you; hand designed you.
His own version of you at your best is always going to be better than anything you can dream of.
If you think a duckling growing in to a swan is amazing, and God loves the animals He spoke into being and created, what can God do with you if you allow Him to.
Just a thought...

[00:00:00] So another Andy B Two Minute Video and, From Small Things, can grow amazing, awesome things in my hand, which you won't be able to really see. I've got a small mesh type bag with some little black dots in them. These little black dots are sunflower seeds.
[00:00:23] Those sunflower seeds, if tended well and nurtured, are gonna grow into big sunflowers.
[00:00:28] Those sunflowers will bring joy to people because it's, let's face it, it's a big happy plant that looks like a giant sun in your garden. But this is quite exciting. We don't know what colours they are. Do. So, our friend Maree, has sent us some of these seeds, so we can grow some sunflowers, which is great. But she's not quite sure what is in there because it's sort of a bunch of seeds that she had and she's not quite sure what was what.
[00:00:50] So we've got in front of us a really exciting thing, because we don't know, are there gonna be little ones or big ones, or red one orange, one yellow one. There's, there's different types of [00:01:00] sunflower seeds, but those ugly looking little seeds can grow into something amazing. You may have heard of the ugly duckling.
[00:01:05] It's a story about the ugly duckling that grew and grew and grew. All its friends would make fun of it. Eventually it grew into a beautiful swan. We grow into something. And that's really all I wanted to think about.
[00:01:19] Jesus was on this earth for around 35 years. Under that. Roughly! Three years of his life were spent in ministry, recorded in the scriptures at least.
[00:01:31] That's a lot of growth, but not a lot of time. But what an output! What an impact!!
[00:01:36] In our lives, in your lives, God is preparing you for something. That something is not necessarily what you're gonna do for the end, until the end of your time.
[00:01:46] It might be something you create and someone takes along.
[00:01:49] It might be something that you create, because God wants you to create it 'cos you've got something unique about you, and then He'll gather other people to support you.
[00:01:56] It might be that you create something and that others can lead you in. [00:02:00] That's the way God works. He works through people. He works in people. He works by people. He chooses to do that and He chooses to work with you.
[00:02:10] Don't look at something, a project, a person and think, oh gosh, that's a bit stupid. What they doing? If they're willing to follow Jesus, they're already beautiful in God's eyes. Start seeing people through God's eyes. Not as they are, but who, as who they're gonna become.
[00:02:24] God loves you as you. But He loves you so much He doesn't want you to stay as you. He wants you to grow and develop and become something far more beautiful for His kingdom, to bring Him glory.
[00:02:36] My just a thought little moment, be careful what you looking and how you're criticizing things, because we all have to start from somewhere to find someone, nurture them, grow them, encourage them, support them.
[00:02:52] Just a thought.
