S05E058, Just Keep Swimming! Andy B 2 Minute Vide
If you’ve ever watched the film, Finding Nemo - or Finding Dory – you’ll appreciate the fact the Dory, is a small blue fish, is a bit forgetful. She’s also incredibly joyful. And she is also well know for her little song when everything is going horribly wrong and those infamous words,
“Just keep swimming”.
If life has go you down today, don’t worry about it.
Firstly, because there is no point in worrying – just like rocking fast on a rocking chair…you move as far along the road as you would do if you rocked not at all!
Secondly, don’t worry about it because tomorrow is a new opportunity.
If life has you down, just keep swimming – literally keep moving; keep moving!
And in the words of an Admiral of the US Navy, always start your day by making your bed. Sometimes you will have good days and sometimes you’ll have bad days. But if you make your bed before you start your day, you’ll have something welcome when you finally get back to bed.
Today I am tired. But it will pass. And, until then, I’m gonna just keep on swimming!

[00:00:00] So another 2 Minute Andy B Two Minute Video. And I was thinking about, have you ever seen the film Finding Nemo or Finding Dory? There's this part of the film where Dory and Nemo's dad, they, they find each other, they're trying to find Nemo and everything is going wrong. It's just, it's hard and it's tiring, and there's this disaster, and that disaster.
[00:00:31] And there's a point in the film where Dory starts singing? Just keep swimming. What do we do? We just keep swimming.
[00:00:37] The last two nights, Having been pretty bad. I was up two nights ago with palpitations for about six hours. That's not a great night's sleep.
[00:00:45] Last night one of, one of the boys was sick before bed, so I was up till two o'clock this morning.
[00:00:52] I was up fairly early taking Jo into work and the boys to something and I'm, I'm feeling pretty tired. [00:01:00] And it reminded me about Just keep Swimming.
[00:01:04] And what is it that we can do when we are really tired? Well one of the things that I always do when I'm really worn out, when I'm tired and I want to say, do you know I've accomplished something, I can't do what I intended to, is do something simple.
[00:01:16] So it could be emptying the dishwasher, or cleaning a work surface, filling up a water filter or a kettle ready for the following day. But these little things help us to keep on swimming.
[00:01:27] I heard a, a great speech by an admiral. I think it was to, to us Special Forces, and he was saying, look, make your bed every night, when you go to bed you, you get into a nice bed. And when you go up in the morning, make your bed so that when you've had a day, a good day or a bad day, you're still coming home to a bed that's made 'cos you've accomplished something.
[00:01:46] And I guess that's my message today.
[00:01:48] It's no matter what's going on, however good or bad your days have been, however good your sleep has been, or not, just keep on swimming. Keep on doing something so you can get to the end of the day and you [00:02:00] say, well, do you know, I did something today. I accomplished something. I wasn't finest of forms, but you know what, just keep swimming.
