A little thought I had while cooking some pasta…if you're feeling like God is restricting you from where you're trying to go, perhaps God is actually helping you to get where He wants you to go a little more easily, and with much less effort, so we can walk in His strength, rather than our own.

Also, if you out a lid on and turn down the heat, you'll cook your pasta far more efficiently.

Just a thought...

So I've just been doing a bit of cooking and I had a thought. Hebrews 12 verse 7. It is for discipline that you have to endure.

God is treating you as sons. For what son is there whom his father does not discipline? If your left without discipline in which all have participated then you are illegitimate children and not sons.

And I was thinking about that and Jeremiah 29 11 as I was looking at boiling some pasta 'cause in Jeremiah, can't find it on the phone, Jeremiah 29.

Very well known bit of scripture.

It says this for I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare, not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

I'm just using the ESV version at the minute and it struck me as I was boiling away with the pasta.

If you have the lid off the pasta, you have to have the gas on really really high or the electric to get the water bubbling.

If you put the lid on all of a sudden your creating pressure and I had the gas almost completely off so that it wasn't bubbling over.

And if you like us as a family over time over life of experienced times, when you feel restricted by God and you're thinking God, why can't I do more than I'm doing?

And you're feeling a bit like Bruce Almighty. The film if you've ever seen that why's there an anti Berry barrier. Or perhaps insert your own surname and it struck me a little bit with Jeremiah.

29 11 The Lord wants to prosper us and give us really good lives, so why does sometimes we go through life really stuck and feeling like there's this barrier?

Well maybe it's because God doesn't want us to exhaust ourselves by running at full pelt with the gas full on?

Actually, he's putting a lid on us to try and make us focus. Actually, it's quicker to get to where he wants us to get to.

Just a quick thought I have. I thought I'd share that on a video. So if you're feeling like we've been feeling for a little while and we felt at different times in our life, different seasons like God's got a barrier this stopping you from doing stuff.

Possibility maybe that he's actually saying, do you know what? I'm trying to restrict you because I love you and I wanna use discipline in a really healthy positive way.

And actually restrict you into where I'm trying to get you to go to.

So be encouraged and turn the gas down or the electric when you're cooking your pasta. Just Andy's little thought on a Saturday evening bye for now.
