S04E069, Priorities, Headspace and God, Andy B 2 Minute Video
Ever found yourself wondering around the house looking for something you already have in your hand? Or perhaps you put the milk in the cupboard and the tea bags in the fridge?
Now, of course I’ve never done those things myself. I’m just using the examples a friend told me about.
We all can have moments when we simply can’t get our head in the game. We are going through our day with odd socks, two coats – one on each arm, and a third for our head. It made sense, but now we’re trying to work out what is wrong.
Life can be good and easy. It can be hard and tough.
The ability to be flexible and adaptable is important. But, so is being able to prioritise.
It’s good go make plans for the day, week or even the year ahead. But, it’s also always ever better to take our plans to God, and remember that His view of what is best for us is often a little different to our own version of planned for events.
If life is overwhelming you, check the fridge for those tea bags, make yourself a cup and have a breather in a comfy chair, maybe even in a darkened room with a favourite biscuit, and take everything you hope to achieve to God, to check on what He desires for you to do today, this week or this year.

So another Andy B 2 Minute Video. Now I was thinking about priorities, and headspace and God. And sometimes stuff comes along in life, and we really struggle to get things done.
0:26
So for the last few weeks, I, I haven't really done many Andy B 2 Minute vids. And it's been a bit frustrating. And it's getting me down. And this is kind of a daily thing, and I'm not doing it.
0:36
But I was really privileged. We've got a bloggers group that I'm a part of now, a video chat. And it's really helpful to chat with other people, from, from around the place that, that are doing blogging, and they know what it's like. And when we share what's your high, low, in the week, it was the same thing that came out. And chatting to somebody else later, who couldn't make it they had the same thing. 4 people struggling with consistency. In fact, a friend of mine joked. He said, 'Oh, do you remember, I used to do a blog?' He's been really busy and he hasn't done it.
1:08
And it's frustrating when the things that we wanna do get blocked, get stopped, get out of our reach, and we just can't quite get to it. We try and prioritise. We have to do lists, digital, paper, whatever works for you. But sometimes our headspace is just like blamonge, or jelly. It just kind of shakes around a bit. And there's no real clarity and we can't quite get done what we think we should be doing.
1:35
So I was thinking about priorities and, and confusion, and headspace, and sometimes things just don't go the way we planned. I set aside two days this week to write my next book. Guess how much I've done? None at all! I've done absolutely no editing to my book, and it's really frustrating!
1:54
But at some point, you also need to think I haven't got done what I wanted to do, what I thought I should do. But, do you know what? There's always tomorrow. There's always a new day. Actually, I'm I'm okay, I'm breathing. We've got food in the cupboards, we've got fuel in the car, we've got clean clothes, the house is in good order.
2:09
So I haven't accomplished those things that I want to do. But it's okay! And we need to let ourselves off the hook sometimes, when life, the pressures of life, stops us from doing the things we should do. And how do we do that? We take it to the Lord in prayer.
2:23
So, if you're struggling because you're not getting done the things you should, you haven't cleaned the toilet for a week, and you haven't cleaned the kitchen work surfaces for a couple of weeks, and, take those things to the Lord in prayer.
2:34
Start your day in prayer and say God, what is it you want me to do for you, for your kingdom, today?
