S02E003, God is our Shield, Family Prayer Time

In this third episode of the new season, Peter & JoJo get together to encourage us, as always - to pray as a family – and in this series by using the Book of Psalms. This time, Pete and Jo read the whole of Psalm 3.

This Psalm was written by King David, while he was running from his son, Absalom and we are reminded of how God is our Rescuer, Protector, and Refuge. We may not be running from anyone trying to hurt us physically like David, but we may be experiencing difficulties in our family or being hurt emotionally by unkind people around us. The old adage ‘Sticks and stones may break my bones, but words will never hurt me’ is just not true and we can call on God to help us whatever our difficulty.

Let’s be like David and be honest with God about how we feel, what we want and tell him we need him to help us. David even says: “Slap all my enemies in the face!” Let’s face it God already knows how we feel and what we’re thinking we might as well be upfront with God!
